Oh Ladies, Hi How Are You All?
It's been a while and I didn't keep my promise of blogging regularly (slap on the wrist) - All I can say is the PhD research can be some what mind boggling, work is demanding and life in general is hectic and full of joy! It seems so difficult to find the time to sit down and prepare a post! I have missed you all and I just realised how much I miss blogging so it just felt so natural and right to start again - sometimes having a break can be a good thing!
I would however like to take this opportunity to thank all of you lovely ladies who took the time to leave comments and emails, complimenting and appreciating some of the work I put into my product review posts. I was completely overwhelmed with the comments I received encouraging me to continue with the good work on my blog! It's such a lovely feeling and to my memory I do think I have responded to all emails/questions but if I missed you please do contact me again! If you would like to keep up with me more regularly then you can do through Instagram: @dynoprettypup
So first up...my appearance!
Back in July I had some extremely subtle copper highlights put in, my base colour was my natural hair colour black and I must say it's the first time I've had a copper colour - it's usually caramel blonde highlights on a light brown base, but I'm embracing a darker hue and completely love it! The highlights were a perfect change for the summer months and in the last two weeks I am now back to an all jet black hair colour for autumn/winter.
Makeup & Outfit Selfies...
Umm apart from the whole busy work/life balance I did manage to fit in a few days at London Fashion Week, I didn't really cover much this time round but it was nice to be part of the atmosphere and take inspiration. Here's a few selfies!! On the first day I wore a Ralph Lauren shirt dress and a Gucci Scarf with my Louboutin Pigalles. On the second day I wore BCBG leather panel trousers, Topshop peplum top with a fiur collar quilted biker jacket from Armani and simple patent pumps.
I've also enjoyed a bronzed make up look with peach lips! And with this look I paired crystal tights, a pencil skirt and a simple black top, covered over by a cashmere shawl and faux fur jewel brooch collar.
Products I've Been Enjoying...
I really like the Barry M Gelly Nail Pants and I've used 'Blueberry - a lilac blue' in the first picture and 'Greenberry - a tiffany blue' in the third picture. As an accent nail I used the colour 'Guava - teal blue' in the third picture. The fuschia pink nail polish was part of a nail kit I found in TK Maxx - it's unbranded but a gorgeous colour! My absolute holy grain nude nail polish has become the Maybelline Super Stay nail varnish, I think it's called 'rose nude', it's got a hint of pink but really compliments my skin tone.
Ahhh finally Maybelline Baby Lips have landed in the UK and after reading so many rave reviews from my American lovelies I couldn't wait for my next trip to the US! But luckily we got all of them here at Boots so I got my paws on all of them, at £2.99 each they are such a bargain and they really are brilliant lip balms!
I've also found some loving for my MAC Ruby Woo lipstick, I just can't get enough of it! It was the first ever MAC lipstick I bought and I just love me a good matte! I thought I'd include this as a lot of bloggers are desperately trying to get their hands on 'Riri Woo' from Rihannas collection for MAC. And I will be honest to say that Ruby Woo is as perfect of a match/dupe as can be but on my lips Riri Woo is ever so slightly deeper and pinker whereas Ruby Woo is more cooler. You can read my review on the two here.
Some New Additions...
MAC recently launched a collection called 'Retro Matte' and matte formula being my absolute need I went running to purchase them! MAC introduce a total of 8 shades of which 1 is a repromote (Ruby Woo), 3 Limited Editions (Steady Going, Runway Hit, Fixed On Drama) and 4 New Permanent Editions (Dangerous, Relentlessly Red, Flat Out Fabulous, All Fired Up). I picked up Steady Going - light pink, Runway Hit - light nude and Flat Out Fabulous - magenta. I didn't rush out to grab the others just yet but I did pick two of the limited editions and one permanent which I just couldn't wait to have!
Something else I picked up yesterday was on my shopping trip with the gorgeous Chloe from blushcrush. We had such an awesome time and true to form we avalanched the shops with our addiction of all things pretty! I managed to find a delicate evil eye bracelet from Accessorize that I wanted, I also grabbed a sample of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which I will be testing and reviewing once I get around to using it - Chloe too will probably have a review soon as she too got a sample, so there will be some interesting views coming through! I needed to buy a new mascara and decided to give my much loved original YSL Faux Cils a break and give it's new sibling 'YSL Babydoll' a go. I got the Christmas set which includes an eye makeup remover for the same price! I also purchased a new YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in shade #3 Ultimate Beige, I fell in love the moment I tried this colour on my lips but mind you i'm in love with every colour of Rouge Voluptes! Your probably sick of my rave and reviews on them!
But while the raving of these lippies is still high on a pedestal I have some devastating news....YSL is discontinuing the Rouge Volupte line completely and have in fact discontinued a number of shades already! For now there are a few still available but as time goes on even these will no longer be around. To say i'm upset is an understatement I'm really angry with YSL because it's just such a popular lipstick and I just don't get it?! Why?! I agree companies make room for new products but in my opinion they were better off ridding us of those horrid YSL Vernis a Levres and keeping these! I will be mailing YSL Beauty on this issue, but I will also be backing up what I can. Sleep and appetite has been lost -
shaking bashing my head :(
