Michael Kors Mini Hamilton Bag

I have a weakness for anything gorgeous - be it makeup, fashion or accessories and here is where I lost sleep. Thanks to the lovely Parveen over at handbagsandfashionrags my paws were itching with the need to get this cute Michael Kors Mini Hamilton bag. I love her Tangerine coloured one but the moment I saw this bag on her blog I knew I wanted the Aqua colour!

MAC Paint Pot Constructivist

Described by MAC as "A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. The next generation of a popular M·A·C formula, Paint Pots maintains all the intense traits of its inspiration. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners. Available in satin, cream, frost, and pearl formulas."

One of my most used items for everyday or occasional makeup looks no matter what they are is MAC Paint Pots. It works perfectly as a primer under all shadows or as a base colour for a smokey eye look. They are available in nine permanent shades: 'Barestudy, Blackground, Constructivist, Groundwood, Indianwood, Painterly, Quite Natural, Rubenesque and Soft Ochre'. They occasionally get released in different colours as limited edition.

Paint Pots come packaged in a cute little glass jar like the MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer and Fluidlines. I've noticed there is quite a small selection of Paint Pots and alot of them are in the neutral colour category cream/beige, shimmer and brown/blacks. I find them really useful and they are very long lasting.

Creme de la Mer samples

Last week I popped into my local Creme de la Mer counter in Harrods to pick up my favourite cream (Gel de la Mer) which I previously blogged about here. While I was there I got to discuss some of my skin concerns with the skin care expert and she very kindly sent me away with a few samples to try in my own time before I decide to purchase them in full.

These samples are:
  • Emulsion de la Mer - The Oil Absorbing Lotion
  • Soin Visage de la Mer - The Hydrating Infusion
  • Concentrate de la Mer - The Eye Concentrate

Pretty Little Things...

I encountered one problem last weekend when invited to dinner at my Aunt's house - Heels made a crack in her kitchen marble floor tiles. Not a major crack luckily, just in the grouting (it can be re-grouted/filled) but something to really consider alternative options of footwear at someone else's house.

So I decided I needed me a pair of swanky sparkly asian flat shoes to wear with my more traditional asian outfits especially when dashing in and out of the kitchen and serving is necessary. I can carry these little beauties with me in the car and slip them on at someone else's house if need be as my own pair of indoor slippers. This means I don't need to borrow my uncle's slippers or my cousin's spare socks - which is really very odd looking when your all sparkly and pretty up top.

Orly Beach Cruiser Nail Lacquer

"Orly Beach Cruiser is a hot pink polish with a cream finish. This neon pink shade is part of Orly's 'Feel The Vibe' collection for Summer 2012. Inspired by an uninhibited and colourful summer mood, this vibrant polish will uplift and energise the spirit while providing high octane glamour."

My goodness did this colour turn heads, cause squeals and brighten people's day in the nail salon when I took in my bottle of 'Beach Cruiser' for my nail technician to apply. This by far is the most brightest, neon, highlighter pink I have ever tried! Absolutely amazing! Absolutely bright but absolutely appropriate for this gorgeous weather the UK is having.

Chanel Blue Illusion Collection

A third release from the Chanel house inspired by yet another Haute Couture Runway show...I give to you:

This is the makeup collection inspired by the magical Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 show that Karl Lagerfeld visioned and created to reality in which models paraded down a runaway inside an aeroplane. NARS Mekong & Night Clubbing Eyeshadow Review + Photos & Swatches

Today I'm reviewing two of my most favourite eyeshadows from NARS! 'Mekong' and 'Night Clubbing'. If you read my post here from my recent NARS haul then you will know how much I've loved these shadows and for me this time they were a repurchase after 4 years of using my previous pans!

'Mekong' eyeshadow belongs to the Shimmer Collection of formulas at NARS.
'Night Clubbing' eyeshadow belongs to the Night Series Collection of formulas at NARS.

Michael Kors Two-Tone Chronograph Watch - 'MK5057'

I'm a huge Michael Kors fan, especially when it comes to their watches and jewellery because they are beautifully made, eye catching and for everyday wear I think they are suitable - with my own style atleast. I have a Rose Gold Glitz watch featured here on my blog also from Michael Kors and I love it to bits. But for now I also added this Two-Tone chronograph watch to my collection.

It features a silver and yellow gold finish, The strap is actually majority silver colour in stainless steel with yellow golden centre detail between the silver bracelet strap.

MAC Heavenly Creature Collection Haul No.2

MAC'S latest collection 'Heavenly Creature' launched at the beginning of this month and if you read my first haul post on it here then you will be surprised to know I went back for two more items. I was just passing some time in MAC when I swatched again 'Ring of Saturn' Mineralize blush and 'Pleasure Seeker' lipstick. I'm not sure why I passed them up first time round, but curiosity and swatches online got the better of me and I went back for the following items:

'Ring of Saturn' Mineralize Blush is described by MAC as a 'Terracotta and Gold Melange'.
'Pleasure Seeker' Glaze Lipstick is described by MAC as a 'Creamy Peach'.

MAC Lovelorn Lipstick Review

I've been Back-2-Mac'ing! So I picked up this pink little beauty! MAC 'Lovelorn' Lipstick is described by MAC as an 'Emotive Blue Pink'. On my lips it's a medium blue toned and sheer pink, it looks quite natural with subtle cool tones. The most beautiful thing about this pink is that it's not Barbie cool pink where it appears too over, I find some lipsticks with cool blue tones slightly harsh for my tanned skin but this particular colour works really well and I think it will suit both cool and warm skin toned girls.

'Lovelorn' has a Lustre formula and this is my second Lustre formula lipstick I've tried in the last two weeks, the first time I tried this formula was with 'Cut A Caper' from the Heavenly Creatures Collection featured here - (I'm really loving 'Cut A Caper'!). I've always found these lipstick's to be very sheer and light in application when swatching on my hand, but when I picked up this colour I swiped a few extra times over one area and the colour built up really nicely. I tried it on my lips and I loved it even more.

Rose Gold Earrings

I absolutelty LOVEEEEEEE Rose Gold Jewellery! It's so unique in colour and looks gorgeous against my skintone. It's also a nice change from yellow gold or silver.

I own quite a few bits of rose gold jewellery some of which are featured on my blog post here as bracelets and here - my rose gold watch - both items are from Michael Kors.

So I randomly went into H&M to pick up some hair clips and pins and as these items were in accessories and near jewellery I couldn't help but take a peek and I see these rose gold earrings shining away at me. I picked them up straight away held them against my ears; looked in the mirror and went off immediately to pay for them!

MAC Half 'N' Half Lipstick - Review, Swatches & Photos

MAC 'Half n Half' lipstick is described by MAC as a 'creamy pink', but actually it can appear like a pinky brown looking at the tube. Now depending on how pigmented your lips are this shade can sit pink or nude. On my lips it's a good nude colour, on others it's one of those neutral pinky browns. It's a colour that swatches different on the hand and appears even more different on the lips (as you will see below).

I'm not really a nude lipstick girl, I like my bold colours but I do like to swatch nude lipsticks as I'm still yet to find the perfect nude that doesn't wash me out or look like concealer lips! I picked up 'Half N Half' by Back-2-MAC and I think it is a really good nude for my NC42 skintone, but I think it will work quite well with other medium skintones too.

MAC Casual Colour Collection - 'Weekend Getaway' Lip & Cheek Colour Review

Described by MAC as a "Versatile, lightweight all-in-one colour for cheeks and lips. Creamy, super-blendable, barely there formula. Contains Vitamin E to help keep skin and lips nourished. Limited Edition."

I picked this little beauty up in San Francisco last month, in this collection eight shades were released and the one that suited me the most was 'Weekend Getaway' for the lips especially, I wasn't sure if I would use it on my cheeks, but if I did it would be the most flattering colour for my NC42 skintone.

'Weekend Getaway' is described by MAC as a 'Cool Rose', on my lips and cheeks it is exactly that, definitely a cooler pink with a rose coloured hint.

How to give yourself a DIY Pedicure

Feet, some people hate them others don't mind but truth be told it's a topic of conversation most people would avoid greatly. I'm cool with it but I also know that feet for some people are a part of the body that tends to get neglected.

First up I don't neglect my feet, firstly because I am a high heel wearer which means my feet need extra TLC and secondly because it's such a quick and easy job to take care of them whilst also being a relaxing and calming experience!

I sometimes have a professional pedicure especially before going away on holiday or after coming back or for special occasions, but once every two weeks I give myself a pedicure at home.

Read on so you can give yourself a relaxing pedicure at home!

NARS Haul - Sun kissed Gift Set - Casino Bronzer - Galapagos Eyeshadow

I took a trip down to Oxford Street this week and popped into John Lewis, as always I can't walk past a NARS counter without stopping - but I actually went over because I had a few items to purchase. I came away with two items (bronzer & eyeshadow) I needed out of four items (two other eyeshadows I wanted were out of stock) plus a limited edition gift set as a random purchase.
