Makeup Travel Case

This little beauty is officially my best buy of 2012!

I have been on the look out for a professional makeup travel case for a very long time. I know there are so many makeup cases out there but I was looking for the ONE. I also needed a soft case and not a hard metal one that I have come across. Also previously what ever I would find held alot of makeup, but I noticed products breaking, falling on top of each other and getting damaged during flights/travel. Plus they were way to expensive and bulky for something I would use only a couple of times a year and mostly on holiday.

After almost 3 years of searching for a decently priced and excellent quality soft makeup travel case I found this 'Black Makeup Case with 4x Extendable Compartments'.

Described as a professional black makeup case, is a convenient way to carry cosmetics and tools around town. The rigid and hard material keep the cosmetics protected. It has extendable partitions, convenient for storage and use plus pockets and brush holders inside the case to keep things organized.

How to find your Foundation Shade & Understanding Skin tone

Picking the right foundation colour is essential in creating your makeup look, whether it be natural or dramatic. Choosing the wrong colour can have disastrous effects, and affects the rest of the makeup. Plus, if it's too dark/orange/pink, you'll look fake, trashy and completely unattractive. So, if you are wondering how to choose a foundation, keep reading!

I've been into makeup for a very long time and foundation was one of my first items of makeup that really intrigued me. Not to forget the most compliments I get is how flawless my foundation looks. If I'm honest I don't trust the recommendations of SA at make up counters. Respect to them for helping me out but when it came to foundation I liked to help myself.

Firstly, here's some advice when choosing foundation:
  • What's your skin type? Normal, Combination, Dry or Sensitive? Understanding this means you can choose a foundation that will adjust to your skin type, won't be too oily or dry.
  • What formula would you prefer? Liquid or Powdered? This helps you pick the right formula that you want.
  • How much coverage do you require? Full, Medium or Light?  Everyday or Special Occasions?  Everyone has their own preferences, decide what your's is.
  • To save time testing thousands of colours, pick the colour you think you might be and then one slightly lighter, and one slightly darker. (Don't forget to write their names down).
  • Always swatch and test the foundation on clean makeup free skin, on the side of your face, jawline blending towards the neck and down to the chest. You do this so that you can create a seamless, natural appearance.
  • Sample before you buy. Even if the shade matches in store, take away a sample home so that you can be 100% sure. Foundation looks different once applied and different lighting can change the appearence of the colour as foundations oxidise with air. Apply foundation in the comfort of your own home in bright if possible day light.

Essie Nail Lacquer Vernis in "E-nuf is E-nuf"

Essie's nail polish in "E-nuf is E-nuf" is a gorgeous and juicy summery red/orange coral colour with reflects of pink in different light. It's really bright yet beautiful on the nails, I've been asked by a couple of random ladies what colour/brand I'm wearing on my nails this week and this was a surprise!

The formula is just perfect and easy to apply, not thick and streaky and my nail technician used only one coat of this and I was quite impressed how full and intense the colour application was! He topped it off with a clear coat and it's been a week and it hasn't even chipped! Yayy!

Perfect for the summer months and looks super cute on the toes!

Love Essie!

Michael Kors Jewellery - Bracelets

Let me just start off by saying I have a big weakness for rose gold jewellery! I love how different yet versatile the color is, blending it in easily with both white gold/silver, yellow gold, gunmetal & various stones. I love rose gold!

I've been on the look out for some delicate and pretty rose gold coloured bracelets to go with my Michael Kors rose golden watch. Previously whilst browsing the Michael Kors website/store I never seemed to find an all metal pieced bracelet, just ones mixed and based with soft materials threaded together. But on a recent trip to San Francisco I saw these little beauties and they had to be mine!

Victorias's Secret Haul

Victoria's Secret Haul
Very Sexy Push Up - Fabulous Push Up - The Showstopper Full Coverage - Bras, Incredible Briefs, Thongs & The Lacie!

These are some of my favourite range out of all the underwear Victoria's Secret has to offer. Not only is it visually the sexiest, it offers a huge variety of styles (Demi, Push up, Full, Bombshell, Plunge...) and colors not to forget beautiful designs and gorgeous embellishments. This year I noticed some bright colours and prints with animal inspired designs, topped off with delicate crystals. I went for lace, animal and flower print.

The Bras:

Very Sexy Push Up Shimmer Lace Brown
#1 push-up bra, now sexier than ever. The Very Sexy Push-Up gives you the lift and cleavage you love with all-new plush padding for a softer, more natural feel and the sexiest shape imaginable. With glamorous little touches like a sparkling center rhinestone, it’s a must-have for your low-cut necklines.

Fabulous by Victoria's Secret Push up Pink Orchid
Sexy has never felt—or looked—so fabulous. This new push-up gives you amazing lift and cleavage with a lightweight cream pad that instantly customizes to your shape. This bra is push-up perfection with a beautiful, all-over sheen and soft, brushed inner cup lining for the ultimate comfort. Pretty pleating on the cups won’t show under your most revealing clothing, and a VS logo charm adds subtle sparkle. It’s the ultimate T-shirt bra and it’s what sexy feels like.

The Showstopper by Victoria's Secret Full Coverage Blue Ombre Animal Bra
Show nothing but your curves. The Showstopper by Victoria’s Secret™ Full Coverage Bra provides the ultimate in no-show coverage with no padding. Completely smooth, this seamless underwire bra hides under curve-hugging tops. With a supersoft cup lining and padded straps for wear-all-day comfort and brushed fabric for a touch of sexy shine.

I love how comfortable the bras are, they literally feel snug against the body and don't feel like your wearing one. The push up styles are very sexy and extremely comfortable and I enjoy wearing the full coverage bra when I'm lounging around, the support of this type of bra is amazing.

The Panties

The Lacie Shimmer Thong Panty
The world’s sexiest no-show: The Lacie®, the supersoft stretch lace thong that started it all. Panty perfection that’s so smooth and invisible under clothing, to wear two sexy ways: low or mid rise, with no back coverage for maximum flirt factor. In lots of candy colors, prints and patterns to brighten your lingerie drawer, this lacy, one-size-fits-all wonder is the ultimate way to wow.

Pink Ombre Animal Hiphugger Panty
Your comfy, stretchy, perfect panty–the Incredible by Victoria’s Secret® Hiphugger. Perfectly no-show and completely smooth under clothes, this seamless sensation is like no other you've ever worn. The low-rise and full back coverage make it perfect for every day, the subtle matte sheen makes it ultra sexy.

Blue Ombre Animal Thong Panty
Comfy, soft and sexy: like no other panty you've ever worn. This Incredible by Victoria’s Secret® panty is super stretchy for a move-with-you fit and all-day wear. Perfectly no-show and completely smooth under clothes, you’ll love this seamless little sensation with a sexy matte sheen.

The panties are also super comfortable, no need to even emphasize sexiness! The materials are honestly the most softest and smoothest and that's what I really appreciate VS for when it comes to thongs. The hiphugger's are also incredible with some styles having no VPL!

I picked up my VS goodies on a recent trip to San Francisco, here's a close up of the gorgeous crystal detailing on two of the bras and the gold brown lacie set!

I don't think any trip is complete to the US till I have been let loose in Victoria's Secret! It's heaven! But I was really good this year as VS is opening up in the UK! I only bought back what I really couldn't or didn't want to leave behind!

Victorias Secret Lotions and Potions Haul
Victoria's Secret Fantasies Fragrance mist, Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream, Hydrating Body Lotion, Smoothing Body Scrub & Bronze Glow!

Victoria's Secret Fantasy Beauty range is also one of my favourites! Mango Temptation is my ultimate holy grail scent from the VS range, I prefer this during the summer months as it doesn't get overly sweet. Coconut Passion I enjoy in winter months for some strange reason, I think the vanilla in it gives me a headache during the hotter months. But I stocked up any way, I even kept the lotions to a minimum as I'm hoping these will also and most likely make their day view when the UK store opens.

The Products

Fragrance Mist
Experience the luxury of fragrance. Refreshing formula is infused with conditioning aloe vera and calming chamomile. Spray on for a sexy touch of scent.

Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream
Experience the luxury of fragrant hydration. Intensive formula is fortified with replenishing avocado and sweet almond oils, plus hydrating honey. Massage on for rich, 24-hour moisture, focusing on dry, rough areas. Skin feels soft, smooth and touchable: the ultimate sexy sensation.

Hydrating Body Lotion
Experience the luxury of fragrant hydration. Fast-absorbing formula contains nourishing aloe, oat and grapeseed extracts, plus antioxidant vitamins E and C. Massage on for silky, replenishing moisture. Skin feels soft, smooth and touchable: the ultimate sexy sensation.

Smoothing Body Scrub
Experience the luxury of fragrant cleansing. Dual-action sugar scrub gently exfoliates as it purifies. Lather on wet skin, focusing on rough spots, then rinse off for an all-over glow. Skin feels soft, smooth and touchable: the ultimate sexy sensation.

Bronze Glow Body Lotion
Limited edition summer products which adds a hint of luminous bronze to the skin perfect for tanned skin to enhance a look.

Generally speaking the description of the products stands the same for each variety of scent available at VS. It's personal preference what scent you go for. I usually mix things up but ran out of mango and coconut scents so decided to re-stock on these this year. A new scent of fragrance mist I did pick up was 'such a flirt', not as sweet yet refreshing compared to the others with it's white orchid and star fruit.

The best thing though I find with VS body products are that they don't irritate my eczema, I can use them on top of my steroid creams or around and I don't feel the irritation or pain, although I tend to avoid the patches of eczema it's a nice feeling when nothing gets inflamed either way. My skin really does feel baby soft and sexy!

Hope you enjoyed this "Sexy Little Things" post! Anyone else LOVE Victoria's Secret?!

Love Victorias Secret!

Chanel Summertime de Chanel 2012 Haul

This summer Chanel have released a new collection named Summertime De Chanel 2012 that features two bronzers, three nail polishes, one eyeshadow duo, two pencils, two rouge coco shines and two glossimer lip glosses.

Chanel is my weakness! I always look forward to a Chanel collection and this one was even lovelier than ever! I managed to pick up a few bits including the Soleil Tan De Chanel Harmonie Poudre De Soleil in 907 Sable Beige, Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 337 Calypso and Le Vernis Nail Colour in 607 Delight. Plus two samples one of Chanel's new Hydra Beauty Gel Cream and Gentle Eye Makeup Remover - (I'm on the hunt for a new one).

There is something so magical about Chanel cosmetics, I'm never disappointed with the quality or use of their cosmetics. You really do get the luxury you pay for! I could have purchased more bits but I maintained some control! The three items I picked I knew I would use alot.

First up is the bronzer, Soleil Tan De Chanel Harmonie Poudre De Soleil in 907 Sable Beige, this powder includes seven stripes/shades with a hint of shimmer. I tried both bronzers, Sable Rose had a pinky tone to it which I was not looking for in my bronzer and Sable Beige became the obvious choice as it has more brown and beige tones. Both however did compliment my NC42 skintone beautifully. I will update this post with swatches but right now the bronzer is too beautiful to touch! I simply can't do it!

As a note if your considering purchasing one of the two bronzer palettes, Sable Beige is the lighter one of the two, Sable Rose having a warmer and rosey glow. Whereas Sable Beige being more bronzey and lighter. I think for lighter complexions both will show up beautifully and not overly done, it's down to personal preference - would you like a rosey tan glow or a bronzed tan glow? For darker complexions the same applies but anyone darker than NC42 may find Sable Rose shows up better. Sable Beige enhances my skintone and gives it that luminosity I am after.

Next up is the Glossimer, Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 337 Calypso, I love Chanel Glossimers! They are lovely, non sticky and provide sheer yet pretty colour to the lips. Calypso is a true orange ice lolly colour! Anyone remember that orange ice lolly from Wall's? Called Calypso?! This beautiful shade is perfect for summer, it compliments tanned skin and layered on it's own or over a orange lipstick will really bring out the beauty of it's colour. The golden tiny specks of glitter really made this stand out for me! In comparison to the permanent glossimers this one is very well pigmented.

Last but not least is the most anticipated item from Chanel, the nail colour, Le Vernis Nail Colour in 607 Delight. There's something rewarding about buying a new shade from Chanel and one I'm sure like myself many of you enjoy using! Delight is a beautiful shimmery bronze and on my toes against my tan skin it compliments and looks perfect! I couldn't compliment the formula, use and shade of this Chanel Nail colour enough. Very appealing and summer appropriate apart from corals and pinks which are usually standard colours used at this time of year.

I will post up swatches of the bronzer and lipgloss once I use them sometime this week. For now I just couldn't wait to share my special little haul with you guys! What are your favourites from this Chanel collection? I think I may go back for a few more bits! Naughty me!

Cosmetics Haul

My first shopping post since returning from San Francisco is probably an obvious one seeing as the blog is a make up and beauty one! I am definitely one of those girls that no matter how much makeup I have there will always be time and space to purchase more, especially when on holiday. Plus there's something so special about going on holiday and buying makeup - I don't feel guilty  about it, lol!

I picked up a few limited edition items from MAC plus some permanent ones and a few bits from Walgreens that I cannot get here in the UK and two items from Victorias Secret cosmetics line which I was interested in trying.

  • MAC Hey Sailor Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden
  • MAC Hey Sailor Pigment in Old Gold
  • MAC Hey Sailor Eyeshadow in Nautical Navy
  • MAC Hey Sailor Eyeshadow in Jaunty

Now if you read my posts here on the MAC Hey Sailor collection haul then your probably thinking why did she buy more?! Well... I hit pan on my refined golden bronzer before I departed so whilst at the MAC counter I thought I might as well pick up the limited edition version of refined golden.

I also picked up two other eyeshadows I didn't buy when the collection came out in the UK and regretted not picking them up. I'm not much into pigments to be honest I have a few from the holiday collections but never use them, but when I swatched old gold pigment I fell in love and knew it would be something I'd start using alot. The colour is just gorgeous, it's a permanent at MAC which I never knew but well worth having with this cute packaging!

  • MAC Casual Colour Lip and Cheek Colour in Weekend Getaway

Casual Colour Collection released in the US a day before I was leaving, I had a quick peek and basically this collection is for a weekend chic, natural barely there look. The highlight of collection happens to be the Casual Colour Lip and Cheek Colours available in 8 shades of which for now only 1 appealed to me and suited my skin tone.

Weekend Getaway is a cool rose colour, looks absolutely beautiful on my lips and I am yet to try it out on the cheeks. I think it's quite a cool product considering it's versatile with it's uses. It smells lovely and doesn't feel sticky, it also lasts on the lips for about 4-6 hours, not bad at all. This is a limited edition item. I'll do a full review on this soon.

  • MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation NC42
  • MAC Mineralise Skin Finish Natural in Medium Deep
  • MAC Blush in Sunbasque
  • MAC Blush in Mocha
  • MAC Lipstick in Faux
  • MAC Lipstick in Russian Red

Above are bits from MAC's permanent line. I picked up Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation whilst at the airport to use for a touch up when I got off my flight which was 12 hours by the way! What made me pick this up was when I took my Aunty to MAC to try out some products I at random used this on her and really liked the results. I was sceptical to use it on myself because I cannot wear MAC's liquid foundations as they break me out, but I used it in store, kept it on and my skin was fine. This was a life saver after my flight and so much more convenient than carry a liquid foundation and brush - literally swipe and go!

I also picked up my favourite MAC powder Mineralise Skin Finish Natural, it's super silky on the skin and great to use on bare skin without foundation to give a natural matte finish. Excellent as a touch up!

I picked up two blushes - Sunbasque and Mocha. Sunbasque has been on my list for like forever but I just never got round to purchasing it. With the summer months I finally thought I need this for my bronzed makeup looks so bought this too. Mocha was not a blush that crossed my mind much, but looking at my blush collection I wanted something matte pink with a plum undertone. So Mocha it was!

I even bought two lipsticks, Faux is a muted mauve pink similar to my holy grail Modesty lipstick from MAC , I used up Modesty whilst in San Francisco and already had a back up of it at home so thought I'd try something similar but slightly different. Russian Red lipstick has also been on my to buy list, no real justification for it but that I have a weakness for red lipsticks and I needed it. Review soon.

  • From Sephora - MUFE HD Foundation Samples in #128 and #153

It is really difficult to get matched up and get samples for MUFE HD Foundation here in the UK, so I took my chances at Sephora and managed to get two different shades of the foundation that I can mix together to get the closest match possible before I cave in and buy full size versions. I have tried this foundation before but never fell in love with it, maybe because the colour match was not correct, I know I need to mix two shades to get the right match. Something alot of ladies out there have had to do. Review soon.

  • Victorias Secret Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Glitterati
  • Victorias Secret Lip Liner in Nude

I don't think I know any lady out there who doesn't want a Victorias Secret Angels bronzey glow and nude lip. I thought I'd start with their lovely bronzer and nude lip pencil. I have to say I'm loving their cosmetics line and digging the bronzer packaing - quite cute! Review soon.

  • Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara in Very Black
  • Covergirl Line Exact Eye Liner in Very Black

Having read and followed many blogs in the US, Covergirl pops up quite a bit. It is a brand available at US drugstores very easily, it's also got some cool ratings and reviews so considering I am a high end brand junkie I was interested in trying some products out. Now I have to say I really wanted some of their lipsticks but the shades were sold out at nearly 5 Walgreens I went to!! Believe me there are no end of Walgreens in US, I haven't seen so many so close together in all my life! Anyway I picked up their famous mascara and I liked the look of the eyeliner so grabbed that too! Review soon.

  • MAC #224 Tapered Blending Brush
  • MAC #239 Eye Shader Brush

I picked two eye brushes I needed but had been putting off for quite some time. I needed an extra blending brush just so I had one spare available at hand and because I use it so much I placed myself in the scenario of: what if I lose it? Unlikely because I'm so OCD about my things but you just never know. I also needed the shader brush so I could now have one for different shades of colours - one for dark, light and shimmer .

  • Essie Nail Lacquer Vernis in Secret Story - Pink
  • Essie Nail Lacquer Vernis in Enuf-is-Enuf - Coral

Essie Nail Polishes I find are a mission to get hold of in the UK, many times I have gone along to Selfridges with a list of colours I want and they never seem to have them. I spotted them on offer at half the price I would pay in the UK and bought two colours that are perfect for summer, both will look so cute on my toes with tanned skin!

I hope you enjoyed reading my haul post, I'll be doing reviews on most of the items I've bought over the next  few days. Let me know if you have any questions.

Love Hauls!
